Our Three Prong Approach

In order to ensure success in accomplishing the OMYGA objectives, the program utilizes a three prong approach. This involves weekly opportunities for classroom golf instruction, hands-on golf training and actual golf play. The three elements of the approach are:

Lectures and Life Lessons

Friday Lectures

Fridays

Hands-0n Training

Saturday Training

Saturdays

Play at Local Golf Course

Sunday Play

Sundays

The Friday evening classroom sessions teach the youth rules and techniques as well as instill good character traits which help them with golf and life. The sessions also prepare students with a good foundation to help them with Saturday hands-on training on and Sunday play.

Saturday training includes a morning session for first and second year students. Third year and above students train in the afternoon at various sites. All sessions start with stretches followed by exercise drills, demonstrations and then time to practice learned techniques.

Advanced students are permitted to play the golf course. This is a great opportunity for them to apply their skills and practice what they learned during the Friday lectures and training on the previous day.
