The Friday lectures are from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the J.P. Callahan Neighborhood Center in downtown Orlando. During these sessions the rules of golf, the 7-Step Method and Dr. Dorsey's
philosophy
of play are taught. He and his staff employ a variety of teaching aids that
maintain
the youth engaged during the sessions.
Mr. Ken Harris, Assistant Director, teaches the first and second year students. Beginner students are introduced to the foundational 7-Step Method. This is a
successful
and repeatable swing method that is then practiced and reinforced during Saturday training. They also learn the rules of the game as well as the
philosophy
of play which help them with golf and real world situations.
After the class sessions the youth and parents relax and socialize with refreshments.
Periodically guest speakers provide great insights to the Friday lectures. Some are shown here, from left to right: Mr. Fred Griffin, PGA Professional, underlined basic concepts inherent to the game. Mr. Ernest Niblack, avid golf player, shared his insight based on his personal
experiences
playing the game. Dr. Ron De Vasto, Hypnotherapist, talked about the levels of mind concentration, self talk and focus.
